Write for us
Rising Current Affairs welcomes thoughtful proposals that help general readers understand how people, institutions and ideas connect across borders. We value a clear question, careful context and writing that leaves room for complexity.
What we welcome
We consider explanatory essays, comparisons, historical context and pieces that clarify a shared international idea or institution. Strong proposals take one manageable subject and show why it matters beyond a passing headline. We are especially interested in angles that make unfamiliar connections understandable without treating any community as a monolith.
A useful pitch
Tell us the proposed focus, the central question, why a general reader might care and how you would approach the material. Include a brief outline and any relevant experience you want us to consider, but do not send confidential information or assume a proposal has been accepted. We cannot promise publication or a particular response time.
Where to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and select the editorial question option. Please pitch one distinct idea at a time and wait for a reply before sending a full draft, unless we have asked for one. Contributions must be original and must not rely on invented sources, unsupported claims or undisclosed promotional material.
The world is connected, not simplified
We look for the links between events without flattening their differences. A little context can make a complicated story easier to sit with.
