Rising Current Affairs

Editorial policy

Rising Current Affairs aims to give readers careful, readable accounts of global connections. Our editorial choices favour clarity, context and honest limits over certainty for its own sake.

Accuracy and context

We check factual claims against suitable sources before publication and take care to distinguish established information, interpretation and open questions. We explain the context needed to understand a subject, avoid presenting a single example as universal, and revise wording when it could give a misleading impression.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for readers, not as a condition of a partnership or placement. A partner cannot buy a favourable editorial assessment, control our conclusions or require coverage of a subject. We aim to describe differences of view fairly without creating a false impression that all claims have equal support.

Corrections

If you spot a factual error or an unclear passage, contact us through the Contact page and explain what should be checked. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted. Where an important correction changes the meaning of a piece, we aim to make that change clear to readers.

Partners and illustrations

Paid, commissioned or partner-supported material is labelled in a way readers can recognise, and partner placements are kept distinct from editorial coverage. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when that is the case, we identify them as such so readers can distinguish an illustration from a documentary image.

Our point of view

The world is connected, not simplified

We look for the links between events without flattening their differences. A little context can make a complicated story easier to sit with.
